Mooseheart is a unique and diverse “Child City.” Did you know we are incorporated and have our own Post Office and zip code?
There are 10 countries represented in our Student Body.
Students have traveled over 7,000 miles to attend our school.
Mooseheart is officially 112 years old, and has helped over 12,000 children & teens.
At Mooseheart we have 42 homes. That means we have approximately 162 bathrooms. If cleaning all those bathrooms, you would be scrubbing about 250 toilets, 200 tubs/showers and 250 sinks. It takes 75 washing machines/dryers to do ALL the laundry at Mooseheart. That’s also a lot of detergent and dryer sheets!
80 refrigerators and 80 freezers are necessary to store all the food here.
Mooseheart has over 1000 acres on our campus with approximately 12 miles of interior streets, & a max speed limit of 20 mph.
When snow falls, Mooseheart teens shovel the sidewalks and building entrances. They use over 300 snow shovels to accomplish that task.
Part of the beauty of Mooseheart’s campus is our 2000 plus trees. Think of all the leaves that need to be raked! That number must be in the billions!
The Mooseheart House of God, has been home to over 1000 weddings! In one unusual wedding, the flower girl was actually a Military Police Dog!
Every year, over 400 Moose Members from all over the US ride motorcycles of all shapes and sizes to Mooseheart for our annual “Blessing of the Bikes.” It is a great event that celebrates our membership diversity.
We are proud of our rich heritage, our diversity and our 100 +years of offering help to children and families. Since our doors opened in 1913, we have had well over 1 million visitors to our campus. Many of their signatures are on file in our museum. We are so glad you visited with us today and became part of our next MILLION!
