Cupcake Wars

In honor of Halloween, Math instructor Leslie Yurgil sponsored ” Halloween Cupcake wars” for Mooseheart High School Students. Baking is a creative way to put math facts and formulas into practice, and the students truly enjoyed the challenge! Judges were carefully selected from across the campus, (see photos below) and the students were exceedingly creative with their entries.

Participants in L to R order were Pauline, Danna, Awelli, Summer, Tosin and Tobi. Each accepted the challenge planning and completing their cupcakes on time.  Most were excellent hosting the guest judges and seemed to really enjoy themselves.  The final tally for appearance/flavor is listed below.

Appearance:  1st – 3-way tie between Tobi, Danna & Awelli !

2nd – 2-way tie between Tosin & Tobi,

4th – Summer

5th – Pauline

Flavor:  1st -Tosin !

2nd -Tobi

3rd – Pauline

4th – 3-way tie between Danna, Awelli & Summer
