Cosmetology Program Curriculum Overview

Over the course of three years, students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for both the technical and business aspects of cosmetology.

Automotive I

Automotive I provides students with foundational knowledge in automotive technology, offering vocational credits required for graduation. The course introduces students to the broad field of auto repair, covering four primary areas of study: brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and engine repair, including computer controls.
Students receive both classroom instruction and hands-on experience in the lab, where they apply their learning to real vehicle repairs. They will be taught how to locate and interpret service data, using this information to troubleshoot and complete repairs effectively. This course ensures students gain the essential skills and knowledge to begin their journey in automotive repair.

Automotive II

Automotive II builds on the foundational skills developed in Automotive I, continuing to focus on the same four key areas: brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and engine repair. However, this course is more project-based, giving students the opportunity to contribute to determining the specific topics they wish to explore further.
With additional time in the lab, students engage in more complex repair projects, refining their skills and expanding their knowledge. This hands-on approach prepares students for advanced automotive repair tasks and equips them with the experience necessary for a successful career in the field.
